Scholarships are always on the mind of seniors and their families looking to go to college. Here at Beacon Academy of Nevada, a virtual online high school, the guidance department provides monthly scholarship bulletins for students to browse through. This bulletin contains scholarships for a variety of reasons and affiliations. It is up to the student to read through to see which scholarship they may qualify for. Another fantastic scholarship available to all students who graduate from a Nevada high school is the Millennium Scholarship.
There have been many rumors surrounding the Millennium Scholarship over the past few years. Recently there has been reassurance given that for the next few years the Millennium Scholarship will be available for students who qualify. Beacon Academy proudly recognizes our three seniors who qualified for the Millennium Scholarship in 2012. The guidance department can also provide students with information about the FAFSA. The FAFSA is required for all students wishing to use federal aid. The FAFSA program is time sensitive because awards are on a first come, first serve basis. If submitting a FAFSA, you should complete the form by January of each year. The financial aid process for college is confusing so Beacon Academy provides scholarship bulletins and assistance to students filling out the FAFSA form!
